How to Choose a Courier Service in Kyrgyzstan: Delivery Formats Compared
There are dozens of delivery services in Kyrgyzstan, but only four working formats. The format decides everything: whether your parcel reaches a village, whether you can see where it is, and whether the recipient can pay on delivery. Here is the breakdown — plus a checklist to test any service.
The four delivery formats
- Cargo and bus shipments. You bring the parcel to an office or bus station; the recipient picks it up in the destination city. Cheap and fast between major cities, but usually no tracking, no door delivery, no villages.
- International courier networks. The best choice for shipping abroad: world-class reliability and tracking. Domestically — noticeably higher rates and coverage limited to major cities.
- State post. The widest branch network, fine for non-urgent letters. Timelines run in days and weeks; pickup at the branch.

Checklist: 5 questions for any service
- Will you pick the parcel up at my address — or do I come to you?
- Will you deliver to the recipient's door — or do they visit a pickup office?
- Does the recipient get a real-time status link?
- Can the recipient pay on delivery? If I am a store — will you collect payment for the goods (COD)?
- Do you deliver to villages, not only regional capitals? At what price and how fast?
