How to Pack a Parcel: Fragile Items, Electronics, Documents
An intercity parcel spends a night in a truck among other shipments — packaging decides how it arrives. Five minutes of prep saves the «who is to blame» debate.
By content type
- Documents — plastic sleeve, then an envelope or rigid folder.
- Fragile (glass, ceramics) — each item wrapped separately, box with filler on all sides; nothing should rattle when shaken.
- Electronics — original box ideally; otherwise wrap plus a box 3–5 cm larger, gap filled with paper.
- Clothes and soft goods — a sturdy bag is enough; shoes better in a box.
- Liquids in plastic — tape the cap, bag each bottle, pack upright.
General rules
- Write the recipient's name and phone on the package.
- Tape all box seams, crosswise.
- Leave no voids — parcels stack on each other in transit.
- Mark fragile shipments — couriers account for it when loading.
